This policy applies when you browse ShopHive, create an account, apply as a seller, place or track an order, save a product, submit a review or report, contact support, or otherwise use the marketplace.
2. Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, delivery or dispatch location, account identifiers, seller business details, application information, product and order records, reviews, reports, support messages and MoMo payment references relating to seller fees.
ShopHive does not ask for or store your MoMo PIN. Sellers and applicants should submit only the transaction details needed to verify a payment.
3. Why we use information
- To operate accounts, seller applications, orders, wishlists and storefronts.
- To verify seller-fee payments and support administrative approval.
- To prevent fraud, enforce marketplace rules and investigate reports.
- To send service notifications and respond to support requests.
- To analyse and improve marketplace performance.
- To comply with lawful requests and applicable obligations.
4. Sharing
Information may be shared with the seller or buyer involved in a transaction, service providers supporting hosting, authentication, messaging, analytics or payments, professional advisers, and public authorities where legally required. We do not sell personal information.
5. WhatsApp, MoMo and external services
Product orders and payment discussions may continue on WhatsApp, while payments may be sent through the agreed Mobile Money provider. Those services operate under their own privacy and security terms. Never share passwords, PINs, one-time codes or unnecessary identity information in chats.
6. Retention and security
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, dispute handling, fraud prevention, record keeping and legal compliance. We use access controls and reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of eligible personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; and complain about how your information is handled. Some records may be retained where required for security, transactions or legal claims.
8. Cookies and local storage
ShopHive may use essential browser storage for sessions, saved products, preferences and security. Optional analytics or advertising technologies should not be activated without an appropriate notice and consent mechanism where required.
9. Children
ShopHive is not intended for children who cannot legally enter the relevant transaction without a parent or guardian. Sellers must not intentionally target or collect children’s data unlawfully.
10. Contact and updates
Privacy enquiries can be submitted through ShopHive’s official support channel. We may update this policy when the marketplace, providers or legal requirements change and will publish the revised effective date.
